Constellation highlights Kabeen, its new software publishing star

In Saint-Cloud on November 15th; Initiated in 2020 from the crossed experience of Damien Charon and Matthieu Bonnard, respectively former CTO and CEO of Fabrick and Gregory Cladera, founder of RG System, Kabeen publishes a platform of the same name, to offer CIOs a complete vision of their IS. Kabeen's ambition is to unify mapping and measurement of different aspects of the information system to allow CIOs to decide on the best trajectory and better share information with other company business lines.

The Observation

IT has always been considered a domain of technical experts, far from the company's core business. However, digital is progressively infiltrating all of an organization's processes. To support corporate strategy, the ISD must then evolve towards a "higher" vision while sharing more with different business lines. Current ISD tools such as monitoring, CMDBs, or project management solutions have not allowed making this link between IT and business lines, and focus naturally turns to lower layers such as infrastructure and Cloud.

Our Vision

At Kabeen, we are convinced that applications are a pivotal element in the information system, at the crossroads of business lines and the ISD. Mastering the application portfolio then allows bringing the ISD closer to business teams and steering IT in line with company strategy.

In fact, applications in the company are largely unknown: It can be Shadow IT or simply a lack of management of these applications. In the best case, they are partially referenced in an Excel, created on the occasion of an application audit service. This lack of control over the application portfolio is widespread. In a company, it is not rare to encounter duplicate applications, others unused, and an increasing IT budget.

The Foundations

This first version of Kabeen provides the ISD with a complete mapping of the IS starting with the company's business organization. One can then describe each service's applications and document down to infrastructure elements hosting them. Unlike CMDBs and application mapping tools, Kabeen complements this IS vision with real-time measurements of availability, obsolescence, complexity, or environmental impact. Dashboards synthesize this global vision of the IS for the entire company, a subsidiary, or a particular business service, so that the CIO has the most complete vision and is capable of making good decisions concerning their information system's trajectory. Thus, Kabeen's upcoming features will integrate usage indicators to measure user experience and satisfaction so that CIOs can identify unused applications, measure adoption rate of a CRM, or plan maintenance during off-peak periods.

Gregory Cladera brings all his technical expertise following successful experiences in software publishing and infrastructure steering.
